|| michelle + justin || Calabasas, CA wedding

Michelle and Justin are one of the sweetest couples. They were friends of a past b. schwartz couple and I could not have been more thrilled to have been asked to capture their wedding in the beautiful Southern CA hills.

Michelle's family is Polish and Justin's Italian which means this duos wedding was full of family, culture, amazing food, great drinks, dancing and lots of laughter.

|| ashley + cory || engaged Boulder, Colorado

Ashley and Cory are the most darling couple. As soon as I met Ashley on one of her trips to Denver I knew we would get along splendidly. This Austin, Texas duo has a love for hiking, the outdoors and Colorado. So I knew we had to find a beautiful CO back drop for their engagement session. Chautauqua Park in Boulder, CO was just the place.

We ended up having to reschedule because of rain and boy am I glad we did. The sunshine in these photos is just dreamy.

Ashley and Cory thanks for having me capture your love. I can't wait for your Colorado wedding next Summer.

|| nick + amber || Santa Barbara, CA wedding

I met Amber way back in College so when I got an email asking if I would be her wedding photographer I was thrilled. Amber and Nick decided to be married at the El Presidio Real de Santa Bárbara, also known at the Royal Presidio of Santa Barbara. Amber has family roots that go back generations. Her family name is written on the wall inside the very room they said I do

Surrounded by a close 50 family and friends they celebrated on the roof top of the Canary Hotel downtown Santa Barbara.

|| andrew + michelle || Aspen, Colorado ViceRoy Wedding

When you combine the mountains of Aspen, Colorado, a dynamite couple like Andrew and Michelle (who by the way met on the beaches of Miami. Couple after my own heart... Love for the  beach and mountains ) stunning florals by Prema Floral and the stelar design talents of Blue Bird Aspen the result is to die for.

Andrew, Michelle and I met through another b. schwartz couple Michele and Colby (which we can't wait for their Aspen wedding this fall). From the moment I sat down with these two for our first early morning coffee meeting in Denver to their engagement session in Aspen weeks later I knew their wedding would be right up my alley. With a love for the outdoors these two, with their dearest friends and family surrounding them, said their vows atop a mountian over looking Aspen resort. They ate, drank and danced the night away at the beautiful ViceRoy Snowmass.

Enjoy gazing on these beauties

|| konrad + jill || engaged

Since Colorado apparently still thinks its winter I thought I would share this snowy and cozy engagement session with one of the sweetest couples I have had the privilege of capturing on film.

Jill and Konrad won me over in their initial email, they told me how much they loved Jesus and wanted a photographer who shared their faith. It resonated with me for days how special the connection is that we have with our brothers and sisters in Christ, and how that can translate in photos. I can't wait to capture their July wedding in southern Colorado I just know it will be such a blessing! Thanks you two for inviting me into your story.

Hope y'all are staying warm in this snowy weather! Cozy up with a hot coco and enjoy this sweet e - sesh

|| blake + jess || engaged

well to say the least I have fallen behind in the blogging department... We win some we loose some right. Thats all changing today, I am catching y'all up on all the beauty that engagement session has brought us so far.

First up Blake and Jess. They are the most darling couple from Houston, Texas who I met through mutual friends. We planned a friends getaway to Breckinridge and Blake knowing Jess' love for Colorado decided he would pop the question on the balcony of our cabin overlooking the Breckenridge valley. swoon I know... what girl wouldn't love that?

Thanks you two for allowing be to be apart of such a sweet moment in your story. Cant wait till you two tie the knot this Fall.

|| ty + sal engaged ||

So we all know that snow and cold weather... I am not a fan. I miss the sunny beaches of CA but this engagement session might just change all of that. Ty and Sal are rock stars. They braved the freezing cold 10º snowy weather the day after Christmas and on Sals birthday for this dreamy sunrise session in the Colorado Rockies... to say the least we think the outcome is to die for.

So looking forward to their wedding this coming fall.

intern call

The B. Schwartz team is excited to announce our internship openings! Do you have a passion for photography or a knack for film? Then you might be the perfect fit.

B. Schwartz interns can expect to be involved in fifteen to thirty weddings and events per year. Interns have the opportunity to second shoot alongside the lead photographer growing their portfolio and bolstering their creativity and consistency. Classes and workshops will only go so far, but as an intern you’ll learn by capturing real weddings in unique and challenging environments.

Here is the scoop:

The B. Schwartz program provides training behind the camera and behind the scenes. Interns will dedicate a portion of their time to the intricacies of digital and film photography. This includes photo composition, post production and image critiques. Additionally, interns learn the ins and outs of owning and operating a photography business including working with clients and marketing.

This internship program seeks potential, not perfection. Nervous or unsure? Apply anyway! The purpose of the program is to teach by offering experiences you won’t get in the classroom.  Internships begin this April and conclude October of 2016. All interns are paid hourly on wedding and event days.

-Applicants must live in the Santa Barbara or Denver areas.

-Due to the nature of the wedding industry applicants are required to work weekends, late nights and some overnight stays.

-Applicants must own a Canon DSLR and have some grasp on shooting in manual mode.

-Some experience is recommended. You don’t need to be a pro, but a serious applicant needs more than Instagram exposure.

-Experience with Lightroom and Photoshop preferred, but not required.

-Professional verbal and written communication skills are required.

-Last but not least, maintaining a positive attitude and being willing to go above and beyond is crucial. Photography is an art, but we also we provide a service to clients. Being able to meet clients needs and over deliver on their expectations is an absolute must.

Email (Becky@bschwartzphotography.com) with your name and a link to your portfolio. We’ll send you an application to complete and set up interviews for applicants who are a good fit.

We are looking forward to meeting y'all and working together this wedding season.

arrivederci 2015

Arrivederci 2015

This year has been one for the books. I left the sunny coast of Santa Barbara, good friends and an amazing church family and moved home to Denver, Colorado, my blood family and a lot of snow. it has been quite the adjustment ... Y'all its cold here and I have found that I am never dressed accordingly for the weather. I might be a CO native but I have CA running through my veins :) ... otherwise known as thin blood, I am working on that.

2015 has brought a sweet rhythm to life, I have been blessed with amazing new friendships, a thriving business, I started shooting medium format film this year and I am in love. I have traveled to some amazing places with my camera in hand. I went back to California several times, ventured to Texas for the first time and met some dear friends in the wedding world, I lost myself in the Caribbean islands and saw and explored my new city of Denver.  I have seen the Lord provide all of this and more in crazy ways. I am so humbled to look back over the last 365 days because... y'all it has been an adventure, one that I am so thankful for, one that I give glory to the Lord for, because He knows what my heart desires and He blesses me with abundantly more then I can hope or ask for.

Thank you to all the couples that invited me into their lives. I am humbled and blessed that I had the privilege of capturing your stories on film.

With upcoming trips and clients in California, North Carolina, New York City and ITALY!!! I can't wait to see ALL that 2016 has in store ... I have a feeling it will be even greater then the last.

So wth only 3 days left of this fabulous year ... arrivederci 2015 and Ciao 2016 I'm just practicing my Italian ;)

|| mike + darby ||

Mike and Darby are just about as sweet as they come. I was so excited when they contacted me about shooting their Evergreen, CO wedding. Having a wedding In Colorado in October always risks a chance of snow but the weather more then held out. It felt like summer. With warm weather and warm hearts these two surrounded by the most supportive friends and family a couple could ask for were wed and the pictures are to die for.

Enjoy gazing at these!
