|| ty + sal engaged ||

So we all know that snow and cold weather... I am not a fan. I miss the sunny beaches of CA but this engagement session might just change all of that. Ty and Sal are rock stars. They braved the freezing cold 10º snowy weather the day after Christmas and on Sals birthday for this dreamy sunrise session in the Colorado Rockies... to say the least we think the outcome is to die for.

So looking forward to their wedding this coming fall.

intern call

The B. Schwartz team is excited to announce our internship openings! Do you have a passion for photography or a knack for film? Then you might be the perfect fit.

B. Schwartz interns can expect to be involved in fifteen to thirty weddings and events per year. Interns have the opportunity to second shoot alongside the lead photographer growing their portfolio and bolstering their creativity and consistency. Classes and workshops will only go so far, but as an intern you’ll learn by capturing real weddings in unique and challenging environments.

Here is the scoop:

The B. Schwartz program provides training behind the camera and behind the scenes. Interns will dedicate a portion of their time to the intricacies of digital and film photography. This includes photo composition, post production and image critiques. Additionally, interns learn the ins and outs of owning and operating a photography business including working with clients and marketing.

This internship program seeks potential, not perfection. Nervous or unsure? Apply anyway! The purpose of the program is to teach by offering experiences you won’t get in the classroom.  Internships begin this April and conclude October of 2016. All interns are paid hourly on wedding and event days.

-Applicants must live in the Santa Barbara or Denver areas.

-Due to the nature of the wedding industry applicants are required to work weekends, late nights and some overnight stays.

-Applicants must own a Canon DSLR and have some grasp on shooting in manual mode.

-Some experience is recommended. You don’t need to be a pro, but a serious applicant needs more than Instagram exposure.

-Experience with Lightroom and Photoshop preferred, but not required.

-Professional verbal and written communication skills are required.

-Last but not least, maintaining a positive attitude and being willing to go above and beyond is crucial. Photography is an art, but we also we provide a service to clients. Being able to meet clients needs and over deliver on their expectations is an absolute must.

Email (Becky@bschwartzphotography.com) with your name and a link to your portfolio. We’ll send you an application to complete and set up interviews for applicants who are a good fit.

We are looking forward to meeting y'all and working together this wedding season.

arrivederci 2015

Arrivederci 2015

This year has been one for the books. I left the sunny coast of Santa Barbara, good friends and an amazing church family and moved home to Denver, Colorado, my blood family and a lot of snow. it has been quite the adjustment ... Y'all its cold here and I have found that I am never dressed accordingly for the weather. I might be a CO native but I have CA running through my veins :) ... otherwise known as thin blood, I am working on that.

2015 has brought a sweet rhythm to life, I have been blessed with amazing new friendships, a thriving business, I started shooting medium format film this year and I am in love. I have traveled to some amazing places with my camera in hand. I went back to California several times, ventured to Texas for the first time and met some dear friends in the wedding world, I lost myself in the Caribbean islands and saw and explored my new city of Denver.  I have seen the Lord provide all of this and more in crazy ways. I am so humbled to look back over the last 365 days because... y'all it has been an adventure, one that I am so thankful for, one that I give glory to the Lord for, because He knows what my heart desires and He blesses me with abundantly more then I can hope or ask for.

Thank you to all the couples that invited me into their lives. I am humbled and blessed that I had the privilege of capturing your stories on film.

With upcoming trips and clients in California, North Carolina, New York City and ITALY!!! I can't wait to see ALL that 2016 has in store ... I have a feeling it will be even greater then the last.

So wth only 3 days left of this fabulous year ... arrivederci 2015 and Ciao 2016 I'm just practicing my Italian ;)

Mike and Darby are just about as sweet as they come. I was so excited when they contacted me about shooting their Evergreen, CO wedding. Having a wedding In Colorado in October always risks a chance of snow but the weather more then held out. It felt like summer. With warm weather and warm hearts these two surrounded by the most supportive friends and family a couple could ask for were wed and the pictures are to die for.

Enjoy gazing at these!

Jessica and Alex chose to have their engagement photos taken at the sutro baths in San Francisco and to say the least I was excited.

The baths have been on my list of places to shoot for a long time and they didn't disappoint. as I am writing this blog post its snowing out my Colorado window and I am dreaming of being back on this sun soaked beach.

enjoy gazing on these beauties.

|| montgomery family ||

I just landed back in Denver after three weeks of traveling the Caribbean and California. What a better way to say hello to Colorado then with the stunning Red Rocks sunrise session.

These three stole the show! Its hard to compete with the rocky mountains as your back drop but the Montgomery's did just that at their red rocks sunrise session.

These three are as kind and stunning on the inside as they are on the out. I loved spending the morning with them capturing this sweet season of life.

hope y'all enjoy gazing on these as much as I have.

When you meet the love of your life on the slopes in Aspen, you have to get married there and have your engagement photos taken there as well.

Michele and Colby are one of the most amazing couples. They are genuine through and through. I felt like we were old friends by the time our session was over.

To say the least I am excited for their wedding next fall at Aspen meadow with Blue Bird Aspen.

|| Kendra ||

When a fellow photographer asks you to photograph them it is one of the biggest honors you can receive. I am so excited to share with you one of the most beautiful Colorado sunrise sessions. Kendra braved the early, damp and cold morning and it was completely worth it because the shots we got are to die for!

Kendra you are beautiful inside and out and I am so happy I was able to meet you!

Y'all have to check out her stunning photography as well!

Oh my gorgeous!! Kyle and Alaina's wedding is one for the books. I was in photographer heaven capturing their beautiful Golden, CO wedding. We could not have asked for a better day, sunny, warm and so in love their day was perfect.

Kyle and Alaina are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside swoon with me over these beauties!

|| Marin + Kamron ||

I had the best time capturing Marin and Kamrons beautiful northern CA wedding. Their wedding was so intimate and personal, They were married in a close family-friends backyard which really was more like a botanic garden... it was just stunning. Everything was simply so beautiful. Enjoy gazing on these beauties.

|| Sawyer Crew ||

First I have to say how much I love capturing a family in their home, its so special and I always get some really special photos.

Now second I have to brag on this family. The Sawyers are one of the best, sweetest and kind families I have met. I loved capturing their sweet little ones. Such a sweet season of life they are experiencing as they raise these four fun, sweet, spunky and amazing kids.

heres a little glimpse in side the walls of the sawyer home!

Thanks for having me capture these gems.

These two are celebrating 30 years of love and marriage and I had the great privilege of capturing a few moments with them.

John and Jeanette are like second parents to me and I am so thankful for the example they are of love and marriage. It is so sweet to see two people so in love and who live life out for others to see.

Thanks for having me capture these beautiful moments and for taking me in like one of your own kids I am beyond blessed!

|| Elrod Family ||

Last week I had the privilege of spending an evening with this amazing family. The Elrods are one fun family to say the least and these pictures show it. We captured it all from a photo with all the family pets 4 dogs and a gold fish named Frankie to some strawberry ice cream cone fun with Quinn and Isla.

Guys I think this need to be a yearly tradition!

|| Martin Family ||

When you photograph a fellow photographers family it is not only a huge compliment but also so much fun. Spending the evening with Jodie (Check her out here ) and her darling family was such a pleasure, we had a great time adventuring around beautiful Ripon, CA and when you have this perfect family, gorgeous California light and a stunning back drop you end up with images that look something like this!

Thanks Jodie for entrusting your family portraits to me.

matt + rachel

So excited to share this stunning Malibu session with y’all. Matt and Rachel are dear friends of mine who I absolutely love and miss so much since moving to Colorado. Their love for each other, the Lord and the people around them is so evident. It shows in how they serve, love and give of all they are and have. So blessed to know you and so excited about these sweet images we captured!
